Orly Shani_Simply Stylist
From bartender to a bonafide fashion star, Orly Shani has made some major life changes in the last few years. Now the designer and curator of the casual women’s collection Tuc+Wes, Orly got her start serving gin and tonics at some of NYC’s busiest bars. The native LA beauty moved to the Big Apple to pursue her career as a fashion designer, and as lady luck (and a lot of hustling, too) would have it Orly found herself immersed in the fashion and celebrity world on NBC’s Fashion Star. Although she didn’t win the competition, Orly’s superstar status rocketed thanks to her easy going personality, and has found herself working deals with everyone from H&M to Saks. Orly has also been scouted as a style expert for The Today Show, E!, and Home & Family.

We caught up with the designer and got the scoop on what she’s currently coveting: Flats – in every color, shape, and style! Orly explains flats were never her favorite shoe style, and even used to associate them with not trying! But, the designer had a change of heart with all the gorgeous on-trend flats she’s been seeing from couture to editorials. Come see (and shop) her picks…

The Platform Sandal: A hybrid between two trends I’m loving right now – the platform sandal and Birkenstock. I would style these with a short romper, and maybe add a statement necklace to balance it all out. Style tip: For a truly modern take, stay away from the festival vibe!

The Platform Loafer: These babies look best when paired with a cropped cigarette pant. You can create a super cool work-day look without giving up on style.

Marvin K Purdy Calf Hair Flatform ($242) BUY IT HERE

The Slide: These crisscross slides looks amazing with a pencil skirt. Try them with a printed pencil skirt and a slouchy tee tucked in. It creates that "Off Duty Model" look.

Vagabond Erie Crisscross Sandal ($70) BUY IT HERE

The Gladiator: A glam pair of gladiators compliments a simple and flowy dress perfectly. They're kind of busy, so simplicity is key, here.

Pinka by Paper Fox Sandal ($40) BUY IT HERE

The Printed Flat: I wear these printed flats with distressed denim and a classic white tee. It brings all the attention to your adorable, feminine shoe. This particular style from Kristin is super feminine which makes it a great date night option, as well.

Chinese Laundry Cadence Flat ($119) BUY IT HERE
