Meet the Stylist: Natalie Saidi
Meet Natalie Saidi, a Los Angeles-based celebrity and fashion stylist whose client roster includes Vanessa Hudgens, Roselyn Sanchez and Ashlee Simpson. Natalie is known for her high-and-low styling approach working with labels like H&M to Dior Couture.
Natalie got her start in the fashion world as a Teen Magazine intern at the tender age fifteen, and was quickly moved up as a Teen employee because of her zealous work ethic and keen eye for fashion trends. She realized her true love for styling there – in a tulle and glitter-filled shoot and the rest is fashion history.
Natalie has worked with top celebrity stylists like Rachel Zoe, Jessica Paster, and Annie Jagger learning the ropes and everything it takes to make it in the crazy world of styling
SS: Tell us the story behind your favorite wardrobe item.
My favorite wardrobe item would have to be my vintage 1960’s Chanel hard shell and handle quilted bag that my mom gave me on my 21st birthday. It’s such a rare piece - one that I’ve never seen anywhere else! I’m completely enamored with it.
SS: What's your most memorable 'panic moment'?
Nothing too dramatic to write home about, thank god! I’ve heard some crazy ones in my time, though.
SS: What is your favorite era for fashion?
I absolutely love the ‘70s glam, boho-rock vibe. I’m all about deep plunging neck lines, wide leg pantsuits, oversized hats, and big sunglasses. Bianca Jagger, Blondie, Diana Ross, and Peggy Lipton are some of my go-to style icons.
SS: What was your big break?
When the fabulous Tara Swennen hired me to work with her and Rachel Zoe years back. I had just turned 20 years old and it was the most exhilarating experience.
SS: Whose closet would you most like to raid?
Definitely Cher’s closet! Can you imagine what it looks like in there?! Feathers, glitter, headpieces, bodysuits, mesh, and edgy gowns! A girl could only dream…
SS: Who are your favorite designers?
For everyday wear Isabel Marant and Rag and Bone top my list. I also really love Chanel (obviously), Balmain, and Naeem Khan.
