With most of the country now several weeks into Stay Home measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus, many of us are hitting the point where we are longing for our hairdressers and other beauty professionals. Salons likely won’t open for several more weeks, and when they do, operations may still be quite limited, so it is best to find some DIY ways to maintain your beauty routine until then.

Here are a few ways you can treat yourself to some beautification while staying safe at home:

1. Create An At-Home Spa Environment

The first step to a day of at-home pampering is to make yourself feel relaxed. Fill your home with the relaxing scents and sounds of your favorite spa by lighting candles or diffusing some incense and playing some soothing music.

We also love to use a facial humidifier during my skincare routine to mimic the spa feel. This one from Hey Dewy is really easy to use and portable too.

2. Find A Favorite Face Mask

There is nothing better than unwinding with a good face mask (and we don’t mean the fabric kind). Whenever we feel stressed, we love to take a few minutes to apply a face mask treatment as a way to unwind.

Depending on your major skincare concerns, there are hundreds of masks to suit your different needs. For me, We’ve been loving charcoal masks like this one from Boscia that remove impurities from skin and leave our faces looking fresh and luminous.

3. Mask Your Hair, Too!

Don’t forget the hair love! A deep-conditioning hair mask is a great way to nourish your locks and extend your hair’s freshness while you are unable to make it to your favorite hair salon. This set from Coco & Eve comes with everything you need to treat your hair to a little R&R: a coconut hair mask, a detangling brush to keep those locks knot-free, and a microfiber towel wrap in a cute tropical print that will make you feel like you are on vacation.

4. Get That Glow

No spray tan appointment? No problem! At-home tans have never been easier to achieve, and you can get a gorgeous golden glow without subjecting your skin to harsh UV rays, too. Bali Body just released “The Original Bronzed Bundle”, a trio of products that will help you get that healthy summer tan even though you’ve been spending most of your days indoors. The bundle includes a self-tanning mousse, face tan water (so your face can match the rest of your body), and a tanning mitt so your tan is perfectly even and streak-free.

5. Upgrade Your Mani

The at-home manicure can be difficult to master, especially if you usually rock elaborate nail art. Luckily, several nail salons like Color Camp have introduced customized at-home press-on nail kits so you can rock that gorgeous mani even if you cannot visit the salon.

You can choose from an array of nail art options, customize the nail shape, and continue celebrating #ManiMonday from the comfort of your own home.
