With Safe at Home measures still in place for most of the country, content creators have had to find innovative ways to continue to photograph their daily lives at home. Most people don’t live with their professional photographers (and if you do, congrats!) so taking photos has gotten difficult.

Luckily, there are plenty of ways you can continue to snap photos and videos of your outfits, makeup, food, and whatever else you wish to share with your audience, all with the help of a few good online purchases. While these items are definitely handy for quarantine content, they’re helpful for any content creator to have in her toolbox, so you will be using these for a long time!

1) A Tripod

Tripods are a must-have for any serious content creator, so if you don’t have one yet, now is the perfect time to invest. They can help you take professional-looking photos even if you are by yourself, and are also quite handy for keeping videos stabilized and high-quality.

Look for a tripod with the ability to hold an iPhone if you take a lot of photos on your phone.

2) A Bluetooth Camera Remote

If you are taking photos on your own, a Bluetooth camera remote is exactly what you’ll need. Once your phone is set in place on your tripod (see above), you simply connect the remote to your phone on Bluetooth and press the button to snap away! This is great for snapping those outfit looks indoors, and beats posting yet another mirror selfie.

PRO TIP: Perfect your poses so you discretely hide the remote in the photo. We’re big fans of putting one hand behind our back, or a hand in a pocket. You could also try your hand at Photoshopping the remote out if that’s within your skill set.

3) A Ring Light

If you’re home could use some lighting improvements, or you are filming a lot of makeup videos and close ups, consider investing in a ring light. Most of them come on tripods that can hold your phone, so you can skip on purchasing a separate stand. Ring lights work absolute wonders, creating a uniformly lit space that will let your face shine.

Another option is a Lumee iPhone case (this is how the Kardashians get such flattering selfies) if you don’t want to splurge on a lighting system (or are pressed for space).

4) A Desk Phone Stand

These little phone stands come in handy for anyone filming beauty tutorials for social media. No more trying to balance your phone in hand while contouring. They also come in handy for quickly checking any new phone alerts while working at your desk!
