There’s no doubt that we are experiencing unprecedented circumstances as we try to limit the spread of coronavirus. By now, most are practicing the art of “social distancing”, or limiting social interaction, avoiding large group gatherings and keeping 6 feet between yourself and strangers, in order to slow the spread of this highly contagious disease. Here at SIMPLY our team is lucky enough to be able to work from home, but for many, including influencers, this presents a tricky time for content creation.

It’s a catch-22: social media is seeing heightened engagement as more people are stuck at home, making it a great time for influencers to create content, but without being able to travel, eat at restaurants, and be out at events, influencers may have a difficult time creating new content.

We encourage you to use social media as a way to educate your audiences about coronavirus and also provide them with an escape from the constant barrage of news. This is an important time to share authentic content, connect with your followers, and provide hope and inspiration.

Here are some ideas for posts you can create at home:

  • Share your work from home tips

  • Clean your closet or beauty collection

  • Share a favorite recipe

  • Work out at home

  • Provide style inspiration for different occasions

  • Give yourself a facial

  • Read a new book

  • Share streaming and reading recommendations

  • Cuddle with your pet (or foster one if you don’t have one!)

  • Meditate

  • Practice yoga

  • Find some Pinterest inspiration

  • Start that DIY home improvement project you’ve been meaning to start

  • Showcase a secret hobby, like drawing or playing an instrument

  • Paint your nails

  • Film a hair or makeup tutorial

  • Listen to a new podcast

  • Watch a classic movie you’ve never seen before

  • Write a letter to a loved one

  • Make yourself a fancy cocktail

  • Share ways followers can give back to local communities
